I could not believe this drawing was done by my Rachael. She said it was called "Rainy Day". I love the storm cloud, the "holes" she says are her knees and her arms protecting her from the rain. I want to share it with the world!

Rachael volunteered to give a talk in Primary. Not a problem until I remembered she is in senior primary now. A whole new ball game. The subject was "I am a spirit child of God". So, I stood up with Rachael and introduced her. I explained that Rachael is in the special ed class at school and she has a hard time learning, speaking and doing physical things well. I said that although Rachael's body and mind may be imperfect, her spirit is not. We are all special spirit children of God, no matter how different we may be. I passed out the magnet with Rachael's photo, name and the words, "I am a spirit child of God" to each child and asked if they would look at it to remember Rachael's name and what she looks like because she may need extra help doing things and she doesn't make friends as easily so maybe they could say "hi" to her when they see her at church or school. Rachael then finished by mumbling with my help "I am a spirit child of God."
I've been taking Rachael to my Activity Days class to get her used to the social situation since she'll start going next month. I have the 10 year old girls. They have been absolutely wonderful to take her under wing. We meet at the church at the same time as the YW and scouts. While I was cleaning up last Tuesday and Rachael was in and out of the room, I kept hearing "Hi Rachael" "Hi Rachael". The kids, some I don't even know yet, were extending themselves to her. I have great admiration for this young generation and have high hopes for Rachael's future in Middle School and High School where kids can be so unkind.
EVERY STORM CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING.

I loved the way you introduced Rachael in the Primary talk. You gave the other children the encouragement they need to interact, communicate with, and include Rachael.
